NATIONAL SUMMARY

Tropical Storm Fay continues to push off to the north and east over
the state of Florida through tonight. Late tonight into Wednesday the
storm will push towards the coastline and move off the coastline.
With this storm remaining close to the water, the rain and winds will
continue to be quite intense from this storm despite being a tropical
storm at landfall. Winds with the storm will weaken slightly before
it moves back over water. Once this storm moves over the open water,
there is a chance this will make it up to hurricane strength. After
the storm moves into the Atlantic Ocean, there will likely be a
second landfall along the Georgia or South Carolina coastline later
Thursday into Friday. Meanwhile, flooding is also occurring over the
central and southern Plains with a pesky storm remaining over the
area. Some spots have already seen upwards of 6 inches of rainfall,
and more rain will continue to fall through the night Tuesday and
into Wednesday. The worst of the storms with the low will move off to
the east on Tuesday, but rain will continue to fall over already
flooded parts of Oklahoma and north Texas. A storm pushing into the
Pacific Northwest later tonight into Wednesday will bring some rain
and even thunderstorms into interior parts of the area. With this,
some cool weather will also be widespread in much of the area.

SPECIAL WEATHER

 Flooding In The Plains:
With all the attention on Florida with Tropical Storm Fay, more
flooding is occurring in another part of the country. The central
Plains, mostly over Oklahoma and into northern Texas is seeing some
major flooding problems as upwards of 5-6 inches has fallen in some
spots. Just in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 4.186 inches of rain has
already fallen in the past day roughly, and more is expected. This
flooding will continue into the day tomorrow as the storms continue
to be found over the area. Rainfall reports of nearly the same as
Tropical Storm Fay are not out of the question in some spots due to
these storms.
