Economy -- Old Economy Village will celebrate the birthday of Gertrude Rapp, portrayed by Emily Lapisardi, with free admission from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Aspects of silk manufacture will be demonstrated and displayed. There will be musical entertainment from the Harmony Society's sheet music collection.

Bridgeville -- Members of Pittsburgh Toastmaster Club will participate in a humorous speech contest and Table Topics Contest at 5:45 p.m. Sept 8 at Tambellini's Restaurant, 413 Railroad St. Winners will represent the club at Area 1 contests.
