An actor who was in "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" was arrested for allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend.

Shelley Malil, who played Haziz, one of Steve Carell's office buddies in the film, was nabbed by police in Oceanside, Calif., when he got off a train from L.A.

He faces attempted murder, mayhem and burglary charges.

The former girlfriend, Kendra Beebe, who was stabbed more than 20 times Sunday night, was listed in critical condition Monday.

The father of "Hairspray" star Nikki Blonsky finally has been released from a jail in Turks and Caicos.

Carl Blonsky was initially denied bail in that airport ruckus between his family and that of "America's Next Top Model" Bianca Golden.

Carl was accused of beating down Bianca's momma, Elaine, who was airlifted to a Miami hospital.

Anyway, Nikki's poppa was released Monday on $3,000 bail because he has some health concerns. He's due back in T&C Aug. 19 to face assault charges.

While we're on the island, we might as well let you know that actress LisaRaye, who's married to Turks and Caicos Premier Michael Misick, is back with her hubby, reports Page Six.

Things were looking rocky for a while amid reports that Michael was accused of rape and also that he was getting pretty close to BET's "106&Park" co-host Rosci.

Now, things seem to be back on track, and LisaRaye reportedly has moved back into the mansion with Michael.

Mariah Carey is still enjoying married life with her husband, Nick Cannon, and the couple celebrated their union this past weekend at a little soiree held at the Hamptons home of Def Jam's head honcho, L.A. Reid, and his wife, Erica.

Also enjoying the evening, according to our buddy Roger Friedman of Foxnews.com, were Mimi's manager, Benny Medina; Mary J. Blige and her hubby, Kendu; Samuel L. Jackson and his wife, LaTanya Richardson; Oprah's BFF, Gayle King; and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Since we mentioned Gwyneth, we'll let you know that some folks attending a fundraiser also in the Hamptons the same night were not too happy with her.

Seems Gwyneth only put in a cursory appearance and spent most of the time in the house, reports the New York Daily News.

Folks paid up to $2,500 to hang out with the Oscar winner, with the money going to the Amaryllis Equine Rescue Farm. But Gwynny reportedly spent the time holed up in the home of the host, photog Steven Klein, away from everybody else.

Folks already were peeved because Madonna, who was honorary chair of the event, didn't show.

Guess Gwyneth felt there were cooler people at Nick and Mariah's shindig.

Looks like Mary-Louise Parker is putting down the weed and heading to Broadway.

Of course, that's just a reference to her show "Weeds" on Showtime. We're in no way saying she's toker.

Anyway, MLP is heading to the Great White Way for a revival of "Hedda Gabler."

Also coming to Broadway in all likelihood is Debra Winger, who is said to be taking on the Katharine Hepburn role in a new production of "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," according to Foxnews.com.

We don't know who's going to take on the Spencer Tracy part, but the aforementioned LaTanya Richardson will play the maid, portrayed in the movie by the late Isabel Sanford.

Mekhi Phifer has been mentioned for the Sidney Poitier part.

If this is Wednesday, somebody must be suing somebody else in Hollywood.

"High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens is being taken to court by a guy named Johnny Vieira, who claims that he and Vanessa had a production agreement in 2005, reports TMZ.

He says when "HSM" skyrocketed her to fame and fortune, she dropped him like a bad habit, ignoring his settlement agreement with little Vanessa. But she's not been paying out on that, he says, so he's suing for more than $5 million.

Also on the lawsuit go 'round is Ed McMahon and his wife, Pamela.

Westmoore Lending of Huntington Beach, Calif., says the McMahons owe more than $275,000 from a 2006 loan and has taken the former "Tonight Show" sidekick to court to get it.

Poor Ed. That's the just the latest in a host of troubles with creditors.

Maybe former Destiny's Child Kelly Rowland can lend Ed a few bucks.

Girlfriend reportedly had a bar tab of nearly $400,000 racked up during 10 hours of partying in St. Tropez, reports the UK's Daily Mirror.

The party didn't stop and apparently neither did the liquor. Kelly treated her 30 guests, which included Bono, who arrived late, to Dom Perignon, Patron tequila and Louis XIII cognac.

Look, Kelly, we don't want a drink, but we could use a house, since you got it like that.
