Angela J. Burrows has been named director of public affairs at California University of Pennsylvania.

She comes to the school from Point Park University, where she had served as the senior director of marketing and public relations for the past two years.

Originally from Belle Vernon and a graduate of Belle Vernon Area High School, she received a bachelor's degree in English and psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a master's degree in public management from Carnegie Mellon University.

She was a reporter for the Washington Observer-Reporter and Greensburg Tribune-Review before moving to St. Vincent College, where she spent two years as a writer and editor. She then served as the director of public relations for Carnegie Mellon's H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management from 1990 to 1995.

She was also director of marketing for the Pittsburgh-based Allegheny-Singer Research Institute before spending nine years as executive director of info-media services at the Catholic Diocese of Greensburg.

She and her husband and two children reside in Greensburg.

Kim Malinky, president and chief executive officer of Canonsburg General Hospital, has been appointed to a three-year term to the board of directors of Washington County Chamber of Commerce. The appointment is effective in January.
